Hello everyone, welcome to the blog! For my first post, I thought it might be helpful to explain my approach to health and wellness. I know the term “wellness” can be off-putting for some but I feel too often we use such narrow parameters to define “health,” that we neglect so many aspects of our lives that are important to maintain to live a truly healthy life. Health isn’t just preventing disease and disorder in our physical body. It’s about what we eat to nourish the body, making sure we move our bodies, maintaining our emotional health, keeping our financial house in order, evaluating our relationships with others, taking time to care for ourselves, and a whole host of other things. It’s about constantly improving ourselves to be the best possible version of ourselves that we can be. That’s what it means to live well, that’s what we mean by “wellness.” And this isn’t a mountain where you reach the apex and are magically living well for the rest of your life. It’s a constant effort to try to find balance. And the truth is we usually never find perfect balance. But what we do find if we put enough effort in is a certain level of balance we are content with that makes us more happy, healthy, and productive as we go through our day-to-day lives. It’s a journey but I’ll be here to help you as much as I can.
