7 Tips on Getting Through An Awful Week

Posted on March 29, 2019 by liveandletlivvy

Sometimes life is beautiful, and sometimes it feels like such a pain to go from day to day. Since I’ve personally had a difficult week I thought I’d share some tips how to get through it because we all have those weeks from time to time.

1. Consume positive media

You already don’t feel good so don’t scroll through, watch or read something that’s going to make you feel worse. Look for things that are filled with positivity to lift you right out of your funk. My personal recommendation: Queer Eye.

2. Cry it out if you need to

Sometimes all we need is good cry. Crying is a great way to just release pent up stress. If you feel like you’re going to cry, just let the tears flow. It can make you feel like the weight has been lifted off your shoulders after you let it out.

3. Spend time with people you love

The people who really care about you know how to just be there for you when you’re feeling down. They know how to put a smile on your face and help you relax. Sometimes all you need is someone to sit and listen while you vent.

4. Work it out

Exercise is a great stress reliever! Find an exercise you enjoy doing and force yourself to workout on days when you feel awful. I promise you that you will feel better (endorphins are amazing).

5. Find an escape

Fantasy stories, trashy reality TV, celebrity gossip–let your mind focus on something that doesn’t matter to take yourself out of the stress-bubble you are currently stuck in.

6. Make plans for the weekend

Your plans don’t have to be extravagant, even having a friend at your place for a drink can make a nice, relaxing day, but plan something for the weekend. This gives you something to look forward to when you need to just get through a difficult week.

7. Remember: it won’t last forever!

Even if you’re going through a difficult time, eventually you will make it out of the woods. Nothing lasts forever. Things will get better for you, so take a moment and just breathe.

Here’s hoping we all have a great week this week!
